2023 Country Football and Netball grants are open

The 2023 round of grants for Country Football and Netball clubs have opened for local sporting clubs.

Grants of up to $250,000 available for country football and netball club to deliver upgrades to their infrastructure.

The Nationals Member for Eastern Victoria Region, Melina Bath is encouraging local football netball clubs to apply for the new round of funding.

“Our local footy and netball clubs play an important role in our community, helping to weave the social fabric of our country towns.

“Sporting clubs have a positive contribution to mental and physical wellbeing by keeping people connected.

“It’s important that we continue to invest in our regional sporting facilities and encourage people to be engaged in their community and improve engagement in sport and recreation.

“As always, I am happy to provide a letter of support to clubs with a reasonable proposal that will deliver a positive impact to users, and the whole community.

“I know from ongoing engagement with local clubs, many of the facilities for female athletes are substandard including changerooms and only one court for training and playing for netballers.”

Examples of projects eligible for funding include:

  • development of new, or upgrade to existing change rooms and pavilions to increase capacity, inclusion, and safety
  • development of new, or upgrade to existing sports ovals and netball courts to increase capacity and safety
  • sports lighting that improves facility capacity and participant safety
  • projects that result in energy or water efficiency, with a direct impact on participation, such as warm season grass conversions.
