Constituency question – Minister for Disability Thriving Kids

Melina BATH (Eastern Victoria) (14:46): (2459) My question is to the Minister for Disability. A Latrobe Valley speech pathologist has an innovative social skills program for children with disability called the Dazzle. The program achieves strong outcomes for children and their families. The Victorian government’s Thriving Kids reforms commence on 1 October. Local families and service providers are increasingly concerned about how existing disability supports and programs will fit into the new framework. Parents do not want to lose access to trusted local providers and proven programs with experienced practitioners. Minister, how will established providers delivering effective disability support such as the Dazzle be assessed and incorporated into the Thriving Kids framework to ensure that our local disabled children and their families can continue seeing excellent services and getting excellent results?
