San Remo Foreshore Committee

Melina BATH (Eastern Victoria) (12:58): (2551) My question is to the Minister for Environment. The fabulous towns and communities of Lang Lang and San Remo both have foreshore committees, and the government, in its lack of wisdom, perhaps, has decided to merge these two entities. Of course they each had their own funds and vision for their region. The San Remo community have raised funds through caravan park fees, through parking revenue and through local fundraising and are now very concerned that those funds will be somehow removed from their operation. They have many good ideas which they would like to achieve with those funds, including but not limited to walking tracks, retaining walls, piers and vital infrastructure. Clearly that requires more than $500,000. My question to the minister is: will she ensure that the funds owned and raised by the San Remo community are spent on infrastructure and improvements in that community?
