Gippsland rail commuters continue to bear the brunt of Daniel Andrews mismanagement as the service is plunged into further chaos with the Victorian public transport dispute.
Ms Bath said the Gippsland rail service is a complete disaster under Daniel Andrews.
“Customer satisfaction with the service is at a 10 year low, with passengers abandoning the dysfunctional service in droves.
“Gippsland rail commuters have been neglected and scarified, resulting in 230,000 passengers deserting the service since Daniel Andrews came to office.
“The Gippsland line is the only Victorian regional rail service in decline as passengers abandon the service, tired and frustrated with constant disruptions, timetable changes, late services and bus replacements.
“Instead of fixing the multitude of problems in Gippsland Daniel Andrews has cut $149 million out of V/Line’s budget.
“Today’s industrial action is just another slap in the face for Gippsland commuters.”
Under Labor, the Traralgon and Bairnsdale rail service has failed to meet punctuality targets for the past five years.
Ms Bath said Gippsland passengers deserve a reliable service that runs on time.
“Daniel Andrews is only focusing on enhancing city infrastructure with multibillion dollar blowouts and ignoring the needs of Gippslanders.
“Instead Gippsland commuters are being delivered a substandard service and are now suffering the consequences of Daniel Andrews ugly Union dispute,” said Ms Bath.
“Gippsland rail passengers deserve much more than Labor is dishing up to our community.
“Daniel Andrews must address the ongoing issues with the Gippsland rail service and invest in a fast reliable train service that supports regional growth,” Ms Bath said.
