The latest Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) figures show a drop of 5461 jobs in Latrobe-Gippsland since Hazelwood Power Station’s closure.
Morwell’s unemployment rate has continued to rise under Daniel Andrews, rising from 13.2 per cent in December 2014 to 15.6 per cent in December 2017.
In Moe-Newborough it’s risen 2.1 per cent in the same time period, to 12.1 per cent.
Daniel Andrews thinks he can throw money at a problem to fix it, but without a plan or vision for the future he’s failed to secure jobs in the Latrobe Valley.

Daniel Andrews has broken his promise to fix the mess caused by his failure to stop the closure of Hazelwood Power Station.
Daniel Andrews’ band aid fix has done nothing to create jobs, stop energy prices rising or curb unemployment.
Only a Liberal National Government will focus on energy affordability and reliability and secure the Latrobe Valley’s role as Victoria’s power hub.

Our community doesn’t need more media stunts from the Andrews Labor Government – we need a plan for our future.
The Latrobe Valley has a long history of powering our state, supplying reliable and affordable electricity to all Victorians.
Unlike Labor, the Liberal Nationals believe the Valley should continue to play a leading role in powering our state in the future, in turn creating jobs and investment in our community.
