“Recreational hunters inject millions of dollars into Gippsland’s economy and Labor’s decision to drastically reduce the season will hurt local businesses already suffering following the East Gippsland bushfires.
“Labor’s decision to shorten duck season has been made on environmental idealism instead of facts and expert advice.
“Recreational hunters travel long distances to stay and spend their money in Gippsland during duck season, however Labor is strangling this legitimate activity by slashing the bag limit to three birds.
“The Nationals will continue to support and advocate for responsible recreational hunting in Victoria.”
