Bath calls for law changes to better protect farmers

Animal activists must be held to account and not stop law abiding farmers from doing their job.

Ms Bath said it is clear that the current legislation is not sufficient.

“I will be exploring how current laws can be strengthened and farmers are better protected.

“Farmers must be able to work without harassment, intimidation or theft from activists.

“It is vital we identify current shortfalls in state legislation and strengthen penalties so unlawful actions are held to account.

“This could be achieved through a parliamentary inquiry or some other means.

“I am calling on the Andrews Labor Government to work with our Victorian farmers and protect their right to farm.”
