Donated nappies handed to Vinnies by Melina Bath

More than 850 donated nappies for babies of all shapes and sizes have been handed to Vinnies, Traralgon.

The Nationals Member for Eastern Victoria Region, Melina Bath electoral office was a drop-off point for The Nappy Collective Giving Project, which distributes unused nappies to local families in need.

Ms Bath said each time she participate in the Nappy Collective’s drive she is overwhelmed at the generosity and compassion of locals.

“Besides the unused, spare nappies being donated, overwhelming we received new unopened boxes of nappies purchased for the sole purpose of donating to this wonderful cause.

“The Nappy Collective Giving Project demonstrates the generosity of our local Gippsland community.”

Ms Bath said she will continue to participate in the Nappy Collective Giving Project, which officially occurs twice a year.

The next formal collection drive will take place in October, however I am happy for people to continue donate unused nappies to my electoral office located on Franklin Street in Traralgon at any time.  We will store them for the October drive.

“One of the great things about this project is the nappies are distributed locally, it’s a simple way of supporting Gippsland families in need,” Ms Bath said.

“Many Gippslanders are doing it tough and issues such as drought and the increasing cost of living are having a large impact on our community, so it’s great to help in any way we can.

The Nappy Collective is happy to accept donations of any unused disposable nappy regardless of brand or size. Open or brand new packets are equally appreciated.
