Ms BATH: I was both saddened and very honoured to attend the funeral of Cr Malcolm Hole, a former mayor who had been in the Wellington shire for 21 years of dedicated service. He was absolutely dedicated to his community of Heyfield and wider. He was a beloved family man with five children and 15 grandchildren. He was a former president of Timber Towns Victoria and a former president of the Australian National Timber Councils Association. Malcolm and I bonded over our mutual passion for timber, for sustainable timber, for a carbon-capturing, job-creating hardwood native timber industry. He was an awesome man. Many in the community feel his loss, and I say vale, Malcolm Hole.
